Role Overview & Responsibilities
As a UPS Part-Time Air Hub Handler, you process time-critical air shipments during a focused overnight sort shift at our air gateway facility, loading and unloading air cargo containers under strict aircraft departure window constraints inside a world-class aviation package center.
- Air Parcel Sorting: Sort inbound air packages by destination routing code at high speed during the compressed overnight air sort window, ensuring every Next Day Air commit reaches its correct outbound container before the aircraft loading deadline.
- ULD Building: Pack individual parcels tightly and efficiently into Unit Load Devices — air cargo containers — maximizing load density while keeping total container weight within FAA-approved limits for each outbound aircraft type.
- Scan & Manifest Compliance: Scan every air package into the UPS air cargo manifest system and verify TSA security screening documentation before any parcel is cleared for aircraft loading, maintaining chain-of-custody accuracy on every single item.
